Member Terms and Conditions

The Party is open to all who share its aims and values and who undertake to be bound by its Constitution. The Party shall consist of its members.

Individual members shall

• Be citizens or have been a permanent resident for more than two years
• Be not less than 16 years of age
• Subscribe to the conditions of membership
• Be not members of political parties or organisations ancillary or subsidiary thereto declared by the National Executive Council to be ineligible for affiliation to the Party.

Applications for membership shall be considered by the Constituency Executive Council in consultation with Ward and Branch Committees and ratified by the Committee on Membership of the National Executive Council.

The National Executive Council may, acting on its own or on the recommendation of Provincial or District Executive Councils grant honorary membership to those who do not qualify for membership under the provisions herein, but who have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to the National Economic Transformation Party and its policies.

Party Members shall:

• Each agree in the manner prescribed by the National Executive Council to be bound by the Constitution of the Party
• Work to sustain and promote the aims and values of the Party
• Pay such subscriptions if any as shall be determined from time to time by the National Executive Council and approved by the National Conference.

Members shall have the right to attend, deliberate and/or vote at meetings or assemblies of the Party in accordance with the provisions of the Party Constitution.

Members under the age of 18 shall be designated Young Members. They shall have rights and privileges as shall be determined from time to time by the National Executive Council and approved by a National Conference.

Members are expected to be active participants working to advance the Party’s aims, policies, programmes and values both within the Party and in their own communities. Members are expected to discharge their responsibilities with diligence, energy and integrity.
